Testimonials

At Inspiration Therapies the wellbeing of those we help is our priority. Here is what some of them have had to say about their experience with us.

Parent View

‘’My child had been struggling with a number of issues and the anger had got out of control, I got to a point that as a parent I no longer knew what I could do for my child. She was so unhappy, and our relationship had hit rock bottom. The one thing I knew I could do for my child was to seek guidance and my child agreed to speak with someone.

After researching therapists in my area and their accreditation they had, I contacted Inspiration Therapies. The voice on the other end of the phone had been exactly what I had needed to hear. Calm and understanding, agreeing to meet with my child to see if they would be happy to proceed put me at ease. My child met with Julie and instantly took to her. It had been made clear that whatever had been discussed in the sessions would be confidential unless a safeguarding issues became apparent. This made my child feel valued and heard (her words) “she going to listen to me isn’t she” My child had 10 + sessions now and they have been invaluable from my perspective. My child is now a lot calmer, her school work is improving which previously had done the bare minimum, her whole attitude and perspective has done a full 360 and is positive about life.

I am really proud of my daughter, and I now see a happy, thoughtful and kind young lady that has emerged from a really dark time. I dread to think where we would and what her anger would look like if we had been on a waiting list.

I will always be grateful for the work that has changed a family for the better.

Thank you’’

‘’It has been invaluable being able to use the services of Inspiration Therapies for our teenage son. He was experiencing some emotional difficulties and self-harm, which we felt needed further specialist support. His experiences were having a big impact on his ability to cope in all areas of his life, including school.

Through the process of therapy, he feels that he has a better more positive understanding of himself and has valuable ‘tools of life,’ strategies to enable him to manage the pressures of life. He also has a better and more positive view of what therapy is and how useful it is. He now really understands the importance of talking and opening-up about worries to someone that you can trust. He is now so much happier and more confident in himself. He is more himself.

As a family we are very grateful for all the work which you have done. He did have a very negative view of therapy before he experienced it, despite what we said. He used to believe that it meant that there is something wrong with you, which I suspect is a common and incorrect view among many young people. It couldn't be further from the truth. However, as parents we also wanted him to see someone who had sufficient experience / qualifications ‘under their belt.’ The mental health practitioner in school was not sufficient for our needs and we wanted someone outside of the situation.’’

‘’Working with Julie has really helped me to understand myself and my problems. Being able to open-up and have someone there to talk to from outside of the situation has been fantastic. I gained a much greater and more positive perspective on both my thoughts and feelings. It has helped me to gain greater confidence within myself and for this I am very grateful. I could not recommend Julie and her team more.’’

‘’My seven-year-old son has recently been under the care of the GP as per CAHMS and has had his struggles with food for six years now. Over the years he has continued to eat only a handful of foods. He refuses to try new foods and often appears repulsed and somewhat fearful in the presence of it.

We have sought help from GPs, dieticians, health visitors on more than one occasion and have accessed private food therapy. We have tried several techniques such as food bridging and all have been unsuccessful. We decided to access the services at inspirational therapies earlier this year and my son has been attending sessions. We have noticed some improvement: he does not appear to be as repulsed by foods, even stating what foods he would like to try when he is older. He has started to engage with some meal preparation but has yet to try any new foods. As parents we know this journey will be arduous with a financial strain, however it is imperative that our son continues with the therapy with this support which is greatly appreciated."
